Sinner's Grief
Figure Drawing - Spring 2021 Conceptual Self Portrait: Sinner's Grief While learning to draw figures, I had discovered that there was one piece of anatomy that I'm unreasonably good at over all other body parts: hands. So what better way to commend this break through in my illustration skills than to create a portrait featuring almost exclusively that. This conceptual portrait speaks to a very universal strife, the feeling of needing more. Whether that is the desire to repair broken relationship, struggles with addiction or greed, personal feelings of doubt or imposter syndrome, it all comes down to this intuitive feeling for me; a feeling of being like an amorphous mass of hands desperately reaching out for something more.
