Kinetic Type - Encanto
VCD 6: Motion Design Kinetic Type Project - Spring 2022 For this project, my class was tasked with visualizing the lyrics from a specific section of any song of our choosing. Being that Encanto had recently come out and was huge in the social zeitgeist at the time (and Lin Manuel Miranda being one of my favorite playwrights of all time), I decided to visualize the song Two Orugitas. Being that this was my second deep dive into After Effects for a higher level project, I decided to be very explorative in concept. I decided to manifest the story of the two butterflies in the song in a way that I saw could be meaningful. I utilized a combination of vector and raster illustration, created mini character rigs for the butterflies, and aimed to get timings just right.
