Photo Emulation: Craig Stecyk

Photography 1 - Fall 2020 Emulation Project: Craig Stecyk This project was the culmination of my learning from Photo I. As a class, we were prompted to emulate the photographic style of a famous photographer of our choice. As an avid skateboarder, I went with Craig Stecyk. When it comes to skate photography, there is a great emphasis on grunge and spectacle (Stecyk being no exception). More importantly, it is very often about capturing fantastic tricks in the middle of the action. Furthermore, skate photography is often about the locales as it often is about found skate spots in urban locations be it parking lots, stairwells, or local hills. All these areas are the skater's playground.
